英語で保育する事によって、どのような効果があるのですか？
What are the effects of English child care?

日常生活を英語で保育する事によって、ごく自然に2ヶ国語を使い分ける力を持ち、英語でコミュニケーションをとる力をつけて（いわゆるバイリンガル）、いろいろな思考方法や、世界の見方を身につけていきます。
そして子供達は、言葉の発達を通じて知能を伸ばしていきます。
幼児期は、見て、聞いて、触れたものを、全て吸収できる脳の発達において黄金期です。
つまり幼児期だからこそ、語学の習得が労せず得る事が出来るわけです。
※ 周りからは「早すぎる」「もう少し大きくなってから…」「意味ないんじゃないの…」なんて声が聞こえてきそうですが、語学の習得に早すぎるという事は全くありません。むしろ物心ついてからでは遅すぎるといっても過言ではありません。
Through English-only childcare, children gain the ability to naturally explain themselves and differentiate between both languages. This advance toward bilingualism is combined with learning various methods of reasoning and a changed world view. Children take this linguistic growth and continue to expand the boundaries of their knowledge. In infancy, the ability to intake large amounts of knowledge through seeing, listening and touching is nurtured. Moreover, because these children are in infancy, they are capable of naturally learning language without exerting the added effort that adults require. “It’s too early!” “Maybe when my child becomes older…” “There’s no reason for this” ; all of these are complaints we’ve heard, but in terms of learning new language there is no such thing as starting too early. Rather, having your child begin to learn English whenever you feel they’re ready may risk the entire process being too late altogether. That is no exaggeration.

まだオムツをしているのですが、インターナショナルスクールに通っても大丈夫ですか ？
My child is still in diapers. Is that ok?

オムツはトイレタイムにスタッフが交換したり、トイレトレーニング中のお子様には定期的にスタッフが声をかけ、自分でできるよう練習します。
Diapers are changed by our staff during periodic restroom breaks throughout the day. We also teach “toilet training,” and after practice children very gradually begin to notify staff when they need to use the restroom.

英語保育を考えています。まだ、ご飯を一人で食べられないのですが…
My child is still unable to eat by himself/herself.

先生やお友達とのランチタイム、スナックタイムは小さなお子さんにとって、とても楽しい時間です。
一人で食べられなかったお子さんも、沢山のお友達となら自然に自分から進んで食べる意欲が湧き、
次第に一人で食べられるようになります。
Lunch time and snack time with teachers and fellow friends is a very fun time for small children. Children unable to eat by themselves begin to see their friends around them eating without help and naturally gain the courage and motivation to eat without assistance.

家ではお昼寝をしています。
インターナショナルスクールでも眠くなったらお昼寝をさせてもらえますか？
My child usually has a nap in the afternoon. Do you include a nap time?

1歳児から3歳児のクラスは、昼食後お昼寝時間を設けています。
この時間は昼寝時間と、日本語のレッスン（年少以上クラス）が併用しています。
お昼寝を必要としない子供達は、日本語のレッスン（年少以上クラス）に参加します。
4歳からのクラスはお昼寝時間は設けていませんが、昼食後は比較的授業が集中できず、うとうと寝てしまう子供達も少なくありません。
レインボーインターナショナルスクールでは強制的には起こしたりはしません。子供達が自ら意欲的に参加できるまでゆっくり見守っています。
We have a nap time for 1-3 years old.
At this time we have Japanese class for the children who don’t need to sleep. When they reach 4 years old we don’t have a nap time but we don’t force them to stay awake if they are sleepy the same as in 1-3 years old class.

まだ、小さいので一人でレッスンに参加出来るか心配です。
My child is still very young and I’m worried about whether or not he/she can participate in such lessons.

もちろん個人差はありますが、
入園されて2～3週間もすれば一人で椅子に座りレッスンに参加出来るようになります。
レッスンに参加出来ない期間がある場合は、常にスタッフがフォローしていますのでご安心下さい。
There are, of course, individual differences that affect lesson performance, but within 2-3 weeks of entering our school your child will become able to sit in his/her chair and participate in lessons properly. In cases where children are unable to participate, rest assured that staff will assist in directing their attention to the lesson at hand.

うちの子は、生まれてから現在までほとんど英語に触れる機会が無いまま育ちましたがインターナショナルスクールに通っても大丈夫ですか？
My child has absolutely no experience in interacting in English. Is that ok?

英語に触れた事のない子が初めて英語に触れたことで、その子がクラスの中で孤立したり困る事は御座いません。最初はみんな同じ経験しており、
子供は個々に合った早さで環境に慣れ、言語も吸収していきますので、到達するレベルも違ってきます。
英語に触れた事のない子供が、1日レインボーで過ごされる時間が長ければ長い程、先にスタートした子供を追い越す事もめずらしくありません。
Even for complete beginners in English there is nothing to be concerned about. Children will individually process languages at their own speed and the levels that they attain will all be different. It is not rare for children with no experience in English to catch up to children with previously high skill levels.

私の家族は誰一人英語を話せませんが英語保育でも大丈夫でしょか？
Nobody in our family can speak English. Is that ok?

レインボーインターナショナルスクールでは、両親・親戚などにも英語を話せないご家庭のお子様を対象に始めました。
ご家庭ではなるべく積極的に英語のDVDを見せるなど、英語に触れさせるチャンスを作るようにしてあげて下さい。会話は日本語で結構です。
At Rainbow International School, we began our mission with families unable to converse in English at the center of our mind. However it isn’t about not being able to speak English. It’s about being able to create opportunities at home for your child to interact with English.Conversation is enough for Japanese.

英語保育による子供たちのストレスは大丈夫ですか？また、どのくらいで環境に順応できますか？
What are the effects of English child care?

ネイティブの担任先生やアシスタントの先生は、登園し始めのころから子供たちが少しでもストレスを感じないように最善を尽くしますが、
初めて保護者から離れることであったり、使われている言語が英語であることに戸惑ったり、周りの環境が違う等といった事によって、多少のストレスを感じてしまうこともあります。
しかし無理をせず温かく見守ってあげる事によって、お子さんにより個人差はありますが、ほとんどの子は１ケ月もしないうちに環境にも慣れるようになります。
Our teachers instruct in a stress-free way from the very start, but naturally in dealing with a different environment and in a different language, there is a very small amount of expected stress. However, without forcing knowledge into children’s heads and through general attention paid to each child’s individual growth, after １ month most children learn to deal effectively with their new environment, albeit with individual differences.

日本の幼稚園に入るまで、または年少さんの時期だけ通いたいのですが、効果はありますでしょうか？
Is it effective to send my child to Rainbow only until the point when he/she enters kindergarten?

もちろん自論としましては小学校入学前までインターに通われる事をお勧めしますが、どうしても日本の幼稚園に入れたいとお考えの方にはサタデースクールを利用し英語力の継続的発展学習をお勧めします。
It’s a personal opinion of ours that children most effectively learn our curriculum up until the point where they used Saturday school. However, if you absolutely want your child to enter a kindergarten, you might make use of our “Post-lesson plan” to provide continuous growth for your child’s level of English.

幼稚園、小学校に通っています。
サタデースクールに通いたいのですが、どのような事をするのですか？
My child goes to Japanese kindergarten and Saturday school during daytime. What kind of thing do you do?

サタデークラスはネイティブ講師による集中英会話から始め、
ダンスや音楽レッスン、アクティビティレッスンなどを行います。
レベルアップした段階でリーディング・ライティング・フォニックス・長文読解と様々なレッスンに
チャレンジしていただきます。最終的には、児童英検6級～1級を取得し、英検5級～2級へと進みます。
After school classes start with English conversation with native teachers. After which students can enjoy active lessons with Dance, music and various other activities and games. Our aim is to help children increase there proficiency in reading, writing and speaking English, by constantly challenging and motivating them. We help students prepare for both the JAPEC (levels 6~1) and the Eiken Tests (levels 5~2).

週一回英会話スクールに通っていますが、あまり話せません。
サタデークラスの英語クラスについていけますか？
My child goes to English class once a week and is not so good at speaking English. Can she/he attend Saturday schooll classes?

ランゲージスクールとは違い、当スクールのレッスンは日常生活を英語で進めることを重視しており、

出来れば、毎週土曜日、サマースクール、スプリングスクールを利用してレインボーで過ごせば、より確実に英語力が身につきます。
We are particuraly different from Summer & Spring school as children have every Saturday in English.

子供たちに英語力がないと、せっかくのインターナショナルスクールの教育が受けられないと思うのですが。
If my child has no previous English experience, would it be a waste of time to enroll in your school?

英語が完全に理解できなくても、先生のアクションからインターナショナルな教育を受け止めることは可能です。
もちろんいいことをすれば誉められますし、悪いことをすれば叱られます。
子供たちはたとえ言葉が分からなくても、肌で感じ取る能力があります。
Even without any ability to understand English, children are able to react effectively to international-style education beginning with actions and gestures by our teachers. If they do good things they are praised and similarly, if they act badly they are scolded. Even without an understanding of the language being spoken, children have the ability to comprehend a great deal naturally.

授業をいつでも保護者が自由に見学できるのですか？
Are class visits possible for parents?

出来かねます。
授業中に保護者様が来られますと、園生活を送る上で次のような支障が出てしまうからです。
小さい子供は自分の親がいないことを悲しく思い、泣き出してしまうことがあったり、
親がいることにより本人が落ち着かなくなることがよくあります。
私たちは子供たちに最高の教育を与えたく、授業に集中する環境を整えていく義務があると考えています。
We arrange certain times for this to happen. If parents come at random times in the middle of a class, it creates distractions and obvious obstacles to the lesson at hand. Small children are such that when their parents drop them off at the school, they feel sad and cry a great deal. However, when their parents are present, they are also unable to calm down for the lesson. We therefore aim to foster the absolute best educational environment for your children by organizing specific days for parental visits.

英語保育でどのようにして日本文化もともに学ぶ事が出来るのですか？
In English day care like yours, how do you teach children about Japanese culture?

本来、子供は文化の多くを家庭や、環境、その地域、国に住むことによって学んでいきます。
よって 家庭・社会で使われる日本語を通して、子供達は日本文化をごく自然に学んでいきます。
日本人としてのアイデンティティーを確立するとともに、他の文化を持った人とも理解出来ることを目指しています。日本文化は当然のこととして、多様性に対してOPENになり、違いを恐れずに様々な事を身に付けていって欲しいと考えてます。
Naturally, children learn the most about their culture via their family, environment, local region and just living in Japan. Japanese used in one’s family and in society, as well as Japanese culture is generally learned naturally by children in this way. In terms of establishing “Japanese identity,” our school aims for the understanding of other cultures and peoples of those cultures so as to understand Japanese culture relative to other ways of thinking. Taking Japanese culture as a natural base for Japanese children, opening their eyes to diversity and differences around the world is one of our most primary goals as an international school.

インターナショナルスクールでは、日本語が使われる事はありますか？
Is Japanese ever used?

レインボーインターナショナルスクールではクラスの中で英語のみを使います。
※体の不調やけが等の対応はまだ英語を理解されてないお子様の場合は、日本語を使うこともあります。4歳児クラスからの日本語のレッスンや体操専門の先生のレッスンは日本語で行います。
In classes, only English is used. However, in emergency cases where children are feeling ill or have been injured, Japanese will be used so as to accurately converse with the child. From some perspectives, use of Japanese could be considered proper or effective,.

英語力はどれくらいになるでしょうか？
How far will my child’s English skills develop?

子供が英語に触れる時間の長さにより、最終的な英語力は違ってきます。
最初の段階として、聞いて、理解することが主なねらいとしてます。その後、次第に簡単な質問に答えたり、読み書きが出来るようになります。
必要な事を簡単な文章で伝える事が、出来るようになっていく事でしょう。６歳卒園時には、ほとんどの生徒が英検３級を取得し、そのうち半数の生徒は毎年英検準２級を取得します。
Depending on the amount of time your child has to interact with English, conclusive results vary significantly. At the beginning level, listening and comprehending is the most primary aim. After that, children will become able to answer basic questions and write out simple words or sentences based on the lessons.

日本語での国語力はどうなるでしょう？
What will happen to my child’s skills in Japanese, their mother tongue?

先行研究でも、母国語に問題はないと言われています。
英語での生活が母国語にも、いい影響を与えていると言われています。
Based on previous studies, there is no significant effect on the mother tongue. In fact, interacting in a purely English environment has been said to positively influence one’s ability to converse in their mother tongue.

インターナショナルプリスクールへ通った事へのメリットはありますか？
What are the merits of attending an international preschool like yours?

幼児期に学んだ英語は、柔軟な子供の脳に残り、小学校で学習する場合でも、
英語に関してのセンスを発揮する可能性を残している事は明らかです。
英語に触れる環境を継続して、更に英語を学習していけば、大きな成果を得る事が出来るでしょう。
English studied during infancy contributes to a brain capable of flexible learning and increases the child’s sense of English as a whole once they begin studying it at the elementary school level, as well. With an environment that fosters English interaction and valuable English study, children can make significant, obvious strides.
